Trust the Process!

Ted Guice, the fitness expert who is also a cancer survivor (I talk about Ted and his inspiring story in a previous post) is my personal trainer for my full THRIVING recovery. During our last work-out, Ted talked to me about creating a daily “list” of things to do. By keeping this “To Do” list in mind, and in context with the bigger picture of what I wanted to achieve, the lesson I learned was not to put off until tomorrow what I can do today.

Instead, jump in with both feet, knowing full well that what is being asked of you, if done well, may very well exceed your present talent and skills. Here is the biggie: Trust the Process. Ask yourself, If tomorrow is full of the things I was going to do today, how would I prepare to enjoy tomorrow? Trust that as soon as you get to the edge of all you can do, that which is greater than you, living in you, will assist you. Trusting the process is a beautiful way to know, at the deepest level of your being, that God exists and is THRIVING as a part of you.

The purpose of our lives is to give birth to the best that is within us. It is only through our own personal awakening that the world can be awakened. We cannot give what we don’t have.

Thriving with Love

Love is an essence, an atmosphere, which defies analysis. Indeed, as does Life Itself. It is that which IS and cannot be explained: it is common to all people, to all animal life, and evident in the response of plants who love them. Love reigns supreme over all.

The essence of love, while elusive, pervades everything, fires the heart, stimulates the emotions, renews the soul and proclaims the Spirit. Words cannot explain its depth or meaning. I once again will quote from Bob Luckin, Minister in Redding, California:

The Heart Loves

“We have been taught that the heart is a muscle requiring exercise to remain strong. Although this is true, research now shows it is much more. The heart appears to be a love center. It turns out that “broken-heart syndrome” following a failed love relationship is more than a metaphor; it is, in fact, very real.

If you want a more scientific explanation of what the heart is doing, search the Internet for “HeartMath.” You will not be disappointed. The heart THRIVES and grows stronger when exercised with acts of kindness. Other research has shown that you are less likely to become sick, experience pain, or easily tire when  you act from love. The cool thing about discovering this is that you may find you need fewer nutritional supplements when you supplement your health with nourishing acts of kindness. Love is an important part of every act of kindness. What would happen if you found love improved everything from your blood pressure to longevity? Try adding two to three acts of kindness a day to your wellness program. Even if kindness has no direct health benefits for you, an act of kindness that benefits anyone benefits everyone. These acts are gifts that do not require a return address.”

Affirmation: Acts of kindness nourish thee and me.

I dedicate this post to my loving, forever-giving parents and to R.P.K.

Thought to Thrive By: The Attitude of Gratitude

Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. I am inspired once again by the writings of Rev. Bob Luckin of Redding, CA and I quote:

“Before I got out of bed this morning, I smiled a smile that awoke my face, and I held onto it for thirty seconds. While in the bathroom, I thought about how fortunate I was to be able to get there on my own. While looking in the mirror, I was grateful that I was there. I thought for a moment about all the people without indoor bathrooms and mirrors.

While drinking my morning coffee, I thanked all the people who made it possible for me to have it. During my morning shower, I closed my eyes and thought about how amazing it was to have water in my house as well as control over its temperature, intensity, and direction. I was grateful for the clean, warm towel I used to dry myself.

During breakfast, I marveled at the flavors, colors, and texture of my food and thanked the Creative Intelligence that created it and all the people who were involved in getting it to me. I marveled at the radio, Internet, and television and how they bring me information about so many things.

I left for work feeling good, knowing I had kept my word and had completed the first morning of my rigorous gratitude exercise program. I can already see the benefits. I have lost three pounds of ungratefulness.”

The miracle of gratitude is that is shifts your perception to such an extent that it changes the world you see

Reshaping your Life

Dr. Joseph Dispenza, a neuroscientist and best-selling author, uses a scientific approach to demystify ancient wisdom and builds a solid, traversable bridge between science and spirituality. Dr. Dispenza gained widespread recognition as the “create-my-day-guy” in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know? in which he discusses starting his mornings by imagining and feeling the day he wants to have. His belief is that science is the contemporary language of mysticism, and that science can help you change your life, and when we understand it, we can begin to to apply this to our lives. His approach is based on a deep certainty that the potential for greatness is in every one of us.

Dr. Dispenza travels all over the world teaching people about the functions of the human brain and how reprogramming thought patterns and changing beliefs rewires it. He states that it’s all about how we think and what our beliefs are, to look at our emotions and our conditioned emotional responses to change them. It’s not enough to want to change. The process of change requires an unlearning process as well as a learning process. Think of it as pruning synaptic connections. To the extent that we learn to control these mental states, we will control our environment and experiences, according to Dr. Dispenza.

He writes that the mind and body are unquestionably related. The principles can be applied not only to your body, but to all aspects of life. His latest book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose your Mind and Create a New One teaches you how to use these principles. You cannot make a quantum leap from what you know, he states. A quantum leap always involves discontinuity, meaning that we have to be willing to jump from where we are into a whole new vibrational experience. And that’s rarely comfortable. As a society, were conditioned to think that if something is uncomfortable, something is wrong! We live in a culture driven to maintain a certain feeling of good. But the real answer is inside, and we can access it there. Once we become conscious of the unconscious self, that’s the point at which we begin to create changes.

Once you have a new emotional experience, you feel it. The chemicals get created in the emotional brain. Breaking the habit of being ourselves requires embodying new beliefs, which involves teaching the body new ways of being by using the chemical reactions in the brain. Effecting change is not a one-time event. Dr Dispenza emphasizes the importance of un-memorizing old emotions to change the brain chemistry and retrain the body. He also explains that cultivating gratitude contributes to re-wiring the brain and retraining the body.

So, reshaping our life experience is more than possible, it’s do-able! It requires that we stay conscious, refrain from living in the past, using meditation to activate the feeling of that which we desire, and then letting go, allowing our expectations and actions to align with our desires and intentions. Becoming mindful, conscious of the unconscious self, is where change starts. Take a moment to notice what within you which is stirring, then activate your divine imagination! The choice is entirely yours on what shape you want your life to take.

The Power Within

There is a Power within each one of us, that is yearning for expression. How to release this is one of life’s mysteries for each and every one. That Power, has the ability to guide us, instruct us, nurture us, shower each with thriving health, abundance and the ability to live the life that we have dreamed about.

Peace is an inner calm, obtained through one’s knowledge of what he or she believes, and why. Without knowledge, there is no lasting peace. Nothing can bring peace but the revelation of the individual to him or herself, and a recognition of one’s direct relationship to this incredible Universe. You must know that you are an eternal being on the pathway of life, what I like to believe is a “Spiritual” being having the “Human” experience.  Peace is brought about through your conscious unity with the inner principle of your life – that underlying current of energy, flowing from a divine center, pressing ever outward into expression (Read my past post on EXPANSION).

We are surrounded by an intelligent Law, which does unto each as he or she believes. In fact, the whole teaching of Jesus was based on this theory. He implied the necessity of Belief, Acceptance and Trust in this process (BAT!) That is, IT IS MEASURED OUT TO US ACCORDING TO OUR OWN MEASURING. We can only expect to have our prayers answered according to our belief and actual embodiment of that belief. That is, in essence, how we can or cannot manifest what we really want in our life.

If prayer has been answered, it is not because God has moved to answer one person and not another. It is because that person has moved into a RIGHT relationship with this Principle of Being, or Essence Of Life, or God or whatever you are comfortable calling this. How to do this is for each and very one of us to figure out. Faith, then, touches a Principle which responds, we can be certain of this. All prayers will be answered when we pray aright!

You will resonate and attract what is needed to help you in this process. Only when you have your eyes wide open! Whether it is a walk in beautiful nature, finding that inner calm through meditation, acupuncture, reiki or any other type of readily accessible healing practice, when you keep your eyes wide open and have that belief, acceptance and trust, the answer or answers will come.

Life is directing us to unfold into our greatness. Change isn’t happening to you. It’s happening FOR YOU. It’s pressing you to find your wings.

I Believe

I Believe……in mind over matter.

I Believe……in the human spirit to prevail.

I Believe……in miracles and blessings, both great and small.

I Believe……in possibilities.

I Believe……that hurdles in life are meant to be jumped over, not as something to stop us.

I Believe……to trust the process. For the Universe knows.

I Believe… THRIVING!!

The Process of Life and Our Deepest Fear

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-From a Return to Love, by Marianne Williamson

“We know that Life is always in process, and always on its way to greater good. We just can’t see that. During those times, we rely on our spiritual radar to navigate for us. We trust that there’s a happy ending. By our faith, through our trust, we invoke it’s truth.”

-Marianne Williamson

For those in the midst of change, whether it be cancer, relationship, marriage, financial, illness, or anything else for that matter, I would like to affirm once again the power of your Belief, Acceptance and Trust in the process of life.

Believe in your good, to trust the process that you’re currently undergoing and know that deep in your heart there IS a greater way of being, doing and serving that benefits all in its wake, including YOU!

Accept where you are at currently, those current conditions of life’s experiences that have been brought to you….. are there to push you to the next level. As we set free a previous definition of who we’ve been, we can gracefully become what Life is directing us to be.

Trust the process. Somehow (and every day quantum physics is coming closer to “explaining” this) the Universe, God, Your Soul, Ralph (whatever you are comfortable describing this greater power) knows what is in your best interest to move forward. Will you trust in this process that wants to sing your name in every circumstance? There is a design for your contribution, your safe passage, and your ultimate growth and good.

You are meant to THRIVE in unison with the magic of life. Open your heart to this process, and then watch as life magically unfolds before your eyes. It’s incredibly beautiful when you allow yourself to be aware of this process. Once you open this door, there is no going back.

Thriving Words of Inspiration!

I am taking this week’s comments directly from author and minister Bob Luckin of Redding, California, and additional inspiration from my dear artist friend, Chris Milostan.

“If not for you, there would be a place of emptiness in the heart of God. If not for you, all the good that you have done would still need doing. If not for you, the spark of your ideas would not have ignited a fire in others. If not for you, the key role that you have played in life’s drama would remain unfulfilled. If not for you, at least one person would not have awakened to his or her dreams. If not for you, someone who needed love would not have received it. If not for you, a life would have been shortened or never existed.

If not for you, the song of life would have missed a beat. If not for you, your gifts would remain ungiven. If not for you, another might have suffered in your place. If not for you, someone would have no path to follow. If not for you, there would be one less smile, one less laugh, and one less hug. If not for you, there would be less mystery. If not for you, an animal might be homeless and a garden left unplanted. If not for you, something would be missing.

You have always made a difference. Who you are is important every day. You are the face, the heart and the soul of God.”

“”Act as if what you do makes a difference.  It does.”
